This retreat is recommended for both new and experienced meditators.

Join us on two Saturday mornings for Feel Human Again (previously called The Art of Being Human), Shambhala Training 1.  This is where it all starts: the first level of the highly acclaimed Heart of Warriorship curriculum - an innovative path of ancient meditation practices & wisdom teachings rooted in the Shambhala tradition & created for the challenges of our modern, everyday existence.

Usually offered as a full weekend program, we are delighted to offer the "Feel Human Again" Retreat over a series of two mornings, Sat Feb 2nd and Sat. Feb 9th 10am to 1pm.

Open to people of any spiritual tradition, "Feel Human Again" explores the view that human beings, at the core, are fundamentally awake. Through training in meditation we learn to let go of habitual patterns, drop our attachment to how things “should” be, and begin to truly appreciate things as they are. Wakefulness is not about escaping the world we live in but rather it is about entering our lives more fully.

This Retreat provides students with instruction for sitting and walking meditation as a means to develop mindfulness in daily life. Every Shambhala Retreat includes thorough meditation instruction, periods of meditation practice, optional one-on-one meetings with a meditation instructor, talks by a senior teacher, group discussions, and contemplative movement exercises

Through the practice of sitting and walking meditation, we will remember our natural confidence and relax to the freshness of the present moment, no matter what that moment may bring.

We'll discover that awakening is not about escaping from the world we live in, but instead is about bringing a mindset of wakefulness to every aspect of our lives: work, play, relationships, and more.

Students leave with the tools they need to bring a mindfulness meditation practice into their daily lives

Please Check-In at 8:30am, we'll have tea/coffee prepared to welcome you. The retreat starts promtly at 9:00am. Bring your lunch or choose from the many restaurant options located in our building.
