We are pleased to offer a year-long series of Buddhist Mahayana teachings at the Mississauga Meditation Centre, taught live online by the Shambhala Acharyas,


Part II The Joyful Snow Lion: the Paramitas

There are no prerequisites, you don't have to take Part I first.


This is the second course of the four-part series exploring the Shambhala Mahayana teachings. This course includes an exploration of Relative Bodhicitta and how we put our aspiration into action with the practice of the Paramitas.

It includes:

 

  • Five live online classes with an Acharya with an opportunity for live Q&A.
  • Each will be led by a different Acharya.
  • A live discussion led by the Acharyas. Live discussions are not recorded.
  • Readings and book suggestions to deepen our understanding of these teachings
  • Contemplations to help us integrate these fundamental teachings into our daily lives
  • A discussion forum with the group at the Mississauga Center at the end of each Class
  • Access to the recording will be available, if you miss a live Class.

May 5 - Generosity with Acharya Marty Janowitz (preceded by a short recorded intro talk with Acharya Chapman), followed by a group discussion at the Mississauga Centre

 

May 19 - Discipline with Acharya Susan Chapman. Followed by a group discussion at the Mississauga Centre

 

June 2 - Patience with Acharya Suzann Duquette. Followed by a group discussion at the Mississauga Centre

 

June 16 - Exertion with Acharya Moh Hardin. Followed by a group discussion at the Mississauga Centre

 

June 30 - Live Group Discussion led by the Acharyas

 

July 14 - Samadhi and Course Conclusion, with Acharya John Rockwell.Followed by a group discussion at the Mississauga Centre

Shambhala Mississauga is pleased to offer a year-long series of Buddhist Mahayana teachings taught by the Shambhala Acharyas. These live online events at the Mississauga Meditation Centre began in February 2019 and will conclude in January 2020. 

The teachings are divided into four seasonal themes, with a new course beginning every three months. Within each season, acharyas will be offering talks that relate to that topic with their own personal approach.

The themes for the four seasons echo the virtues of the Four Dignities of the Shambhala Path.

May 5 - July 14: Part 2 The Joyful Snow Lion: The Paramitas 

July 28 - October 6: Part 3 Garuda, space beyond hope and fear: Heart Sutra and Sunyata

October 20 - January 19: Part 4 Dragon, compassionate engagement: Lojong, mind training
